Quality Engineer - Automotive

International Manufacturer of electronic ceramic parts for the Automotive Industry is seeking a Quality Engineer.

Responsibilities include:
# Interface directly with Manufacturing, Engineering, Account Management, and Quality Department personnel, as well as with Automotive Customers.
# Work with Quality Assurance issues including process control initiatives, root cause analysis, internal and external auditing, measurement system analysis issues, etc.
# Promote working partnerships between Company and its Automotive Customers.
# Establish close working relationships with Customers, including timely reporting of information, and travelling as needed.
# Develop the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 to enhance the overall quality of the incoming and outgoing products.
# Improving detection of non conformances, forming and processing techniques, and customer service processes.
# Work with management, engineering, operations, and quality to plan and implement improvements to processes and to the continual improvement of the QMS.
# Maintain various Quality Programs such as ISO 9001, PPAP, APQP, FMEA, etc.
# Ensure that Company's Suppliers meet requirements of ISO9000, ensuring that Company's products will meet Customers' standards.
# Conduct audits and support Suppliers through problem solving.
# Audit QMS documentation and execute a wide range of quality assurance practices and procedures under ISO9001:2000, including performing internal audits on applicable systems.
# Document inspections through devices such as SPC, capability reports, etc.
# Perform Continuous Improvement activities such as identifying and improving process controls/capabilities, controlling product characteristics, corrective actions, measurement systems analysis methods (MSA), etc
# Track completion of automotive action items, process improvements, and corrective actions.
# Provide program status summaries to senior level management.
# Ensure product conformance to automotive specifications, including design compliance, verification and validation.
# Perform QMS audits and generate audit reports.
# Travel as necessary (up to 25%, including internationally) to visit customers, inspection facilities, and suppliers.
